Restaurant Review Worth the Weight

An Afternoon at Ice Giants

Ice Giants Review

One sunny afternoon last summer (way before my dad had his blood tested for various illnesses), we were all craving for ice cream. Since we wanted to try something new, we decided to go to the nearest Ice Giants to eat what else but a giant sundae!

Before that, we ordered some “real food” because we haven’t had lunch yet. Since we’re going to be eating a giant sundae, we stayed away from rice meals. But the dishes we ordered were still calorie-laden so I don’t understand my point. Here they are:

I forgot the exact price, but it should range from P250 to P300

This was just a small serving of lasagna – P120

Who knew Ice Giants served savoury dishes? I didn’t! While we were eating, we ordered our giant sundae to be served later. We wanted either the mango or the halo-halo flavoured ones, but the young’uns really wanted chocolate so chocolate it is. Lo and behold, the chocolate giant sundae.

Why does my 3-year old look so binata here?

Chocolate Giant Sundae – P495

Food was so-so. Their chicken was tasty but nothing spectacular – well, it was affordable so it was certainly great for the price. Lasagna was also just okay. For the sundae, I feel like I could have made the same at home – nothing special and there was too much ice compared to ice cream – but it was a delight to eat on a sunny day. Or maybe it’s because we had chocolate. We should have tried mango or halohalo!

Ice Giants in Davao is very easy to locate. It’s just in Damosa compound, along the highway. The place is small, but there were not a lot of patrons and the couches were comfortable, too!

Service is okay – nothing spectacular but nothing lacking either.

Price is certainly okay! For just P495, you get to have a giant serving of sundae that can be shared by a group (the number of people who can share the sundae depends on your group’s appetite). Other dishes are also very affordably priced.Β For this price, I don’t see why you should not try their frozen delights!

Got excited about the ice giants but then it’s too far from where I am. I haven’t been to Davao, hopefully when we go there, I’ll see you…and Mayor Duterte, wink, wink!

I love how that sundae looks, I don’t think I can share it, though. The lasagna was just so-so? Looks delish.

Would like to have slice of that lasagna, it does look creamy and cheesy. Ice cream is a such a comfort food.
