Where to go in North Cotabato? Sitio Maupot!

Sitio Maupot Family Resort

Hey guys! *wave*

Right now, we’re all gathered watching the Presidential Debate which is really, really on fire. We all know it’s not going according to rules and almost no one listens to Luchi Cruz Valdez anymore, it’s all ad hominem and no one stays on topic, but let’s admit that this is the debate we’ve been wanting to hear. Or at least it’s what I want to hear!

Anyway, I decided to write a short blog entry during the commercial break. Actually, this is a long-delayed one. I’ve been telling you about my friend’s wedding in Kidapawan. It was a lovely, lovely wedding and a huge part of its success is the venue.

When JM invited us to her wedding, none of us knew where Sitio Maupot was. It was the first time we’ve ever heard of the place so, of course, we researched. I found the website of Sitio Maupot Family Resort and oooh it did look promising! (It was a pity they weren’t renting out rooms yet as the resort is still new so we chose to stay overnight in Hof Mansion Inn — which was not a bad decision, by the way!)

But the awesome pictures shown in Sitio Maupot Family Resort’s website weren’t a match for the actual view that awaits you. Even I wasn’t expecting it to be that beautiful.

A Weekend Stay in Hof Mansion Inn, Kidapawan

Hof Mansion Inn Review

When I attended my friend JM’s wedding in Kidapawan, my friends and I decided to look for a hotel on our own to avoid adding stress to JM. Their rustic-themed wedding was entirely DIY and she was already too busy. She offered her own home to us but we declined, knowing it would be teeming with relatives and well-wishers. So, the hotel hunting began!

After a series of phone calls and inquiries, we finally decided on a new hotel with good reviews that looked lovely but had reasonable rates: Hof Mansion Inn.  We booked the deluxe room good for 3 persons at P1,800 per night.

Initial Impressions

The hotel is quite far from Kidapawan’s centre; however, everything is accessible with a tricycle so it was just one tricycle ride away from the major establishments. From the plaza to Hof Mansion Inn, we were charged by the tricycle driver P20 per head. Not bad at all!

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were just awed at the place. The grounds were lush and wide and the structure itself was beautiful. It looked like a mansion, indeed, thus the name.
