A full week has passed since the actual Kadayawan Festival but I’ve been so incredibly busy that I haven’t gotten around to writing about it until today.
Thank goodness for public holidays!
(I’m having my public holiday today actually because I opted to work yesterday.)
Anyway, my Kadayawan weekend was full to the hilt! I thought you might be interested (lol) so I’ll share with you what I did last weekend.
1. Kadayawan Bazaar
My weekend officially began that Friday. August 19th was a city holiday (as well as the 22nd, a Monday), but we opted to work. We then let off steam that afternoon at the Kadayawan Bazaar because retail therapy, that’s why!
My sister and I went home carrying quite a few shopping bags, most of which are food and clothes, but these are my most interesting finds:
2. Sister’s volleyball clinic with the Alyssa Valdez
My sister and I woke up very early the next day (Saturday) because she’s going to attend a volleyball clinic to be trained by no other than the Alyssa Valdez. I was meeting my friends that afternoon for #3 and the condominium we would be staying in was just 5 minutes away from Ateneo de Davao High School (the venue of the volleyball clinic). So I agreed to be my sister’s guardian.
I was complaining because we were already on the road so early in the morning on a Saturday but I actually enjoyed watching the tweens train. I was amazed at Alyssa’s muscle power and, ehem, her legs that go on for days!
3. Reunion slash slumber party slash bridal shower with besties
And finally, after lunch, I met with my besties for a slumber party slash bridal shower. As I mentioned in a previous post, we haven’t seen our friend Christine for over a year because she’s working in Japan as an English teacher. So we were really excited to see her again!
That was a super duper fun get-together. Even though we had problems with the condo unit we rented, in the end, it’s really the company that matters. I’m having sepanx already!
