Road to Fitness: My Collection of Healthy Snacks

I was meaning to blog three times a week.

Hahahahaha as if.

I mean, I’m still aspiring to blog a lot more often than once a week (if lucky). However, life does get in the way and even though there is so much to tell, it’s hard for me to find the time to tell it. But I’m trying my best to make time.

One of the reasons why I blog is to keep myself accountable. Blogging has kept me accountable for the way I parent, handle my relationships, even how I manage money. There is something else, though, that I must be held accountable for: my health and fitness.

A few weeks ago, I officially started my diet. I’ve been trying my best to stick to it (although there were a handful of occasions where I didn’t have any choice but to eat what was available). However, the hardest thing — for me — is managing my snacking habit. I’m a serial snacker! I know what’s best is to completely remove snacking from my daily diet, but a snack or two gets me through the long afternoons.

My solution for now? Get a box just for me and fill it with healthy snacks. I want to show what’s inside my “healthy” box!

Disclaimer: I don’t intend to eat them all at once ha! Some of them I’ve had for a month na. I eat a small amount at a time of whatever I fancy, which works well because almost all of them come in resealable packs.

Different kinds of trail mix and fruit snacks which I bought from Gaisano Mall (price per pack is approximately P130-P170)

Peanut butter and dark chocolate bliss balls from Take Root (P130 each)

Valor sugar-free chocolate (P150)

Sugar-free chocolates (left) and coconut sugar-covered cacao nibs (right) which I bought at Citymall in Tagum City (P75 for the chocolates, P175 for the cacao nibs)

Mango-banana and guava-banana fruit crisps from Oh So Healthy (P95 each)

I wasn’t able to take a picture of my actual box, but it’s just your regular transparent plastic box. I bought mine from Japan Home Centre for P95, if I remember it correctly. I also chucked in a small box of McVities lite digestives for whenever I’m feeling hungry and can’t be satiated by anything sugar-free lol. It’s not healthy (at least I’m honest haha) but I think it’s better than white bread — which I can easily eat a lot of.

Oh, I also have these. Like the sugar-free chocolate and cacao nibs, I also bought this at Citymall in Tagum but from a different booth. I think it was called Go Lokal? These are not snacks but were really yummy hehe.

Mushroom Tempura (P150) and veggie noodles (P175)

What are your favorite healthy snacks?

I love this idea. I’m not on a diet, that’s why I tend to have chocolates on my desk. I want nuts as snacks. 🙂

Apir tayo! I’m also trying to be fit, and I Healthy Options has become my tambayan. Unfortunately for me, I’m on (or at least trying to be) the ketogenic diet. No fruits or grains whatsoever.

Before, hindi uso diet sa kin but this year a lot of people tell me that I’m “fat”. Napaisip na ko, so this year I started to check my diet. I have sweet tooth so ang hirap igive-up ng chocolates, cakes and ice cream but now I’m trying my best to eat healthy snacks. I would love to try the Fruit Crisps.

Wow! Thank you for this, kailangan ko na magsimula pumayat ulit! Pag SAHM ka na, minsan nakakalimutan mo na mag-ayos at magpapayat. Huhu! I love the trail mix, reminds me of my hiking days! hehe… Naintriga ako sa lasa ng Yogurt raisins.

They look nice and yummy – that’s for sure! haha. But let’s talk about blogging, lol! Like you, I wanted to post twice or thrice a week, minsan nagagawa ko, minsan hindi, haha! I remember before, after I log out of work, Mhaan, I’d see your post everyday sa MBP group and I’d be like “wow ning bayhana, tambok kaayog utok, di mahutdag isulat!” hehe.

I’m a serial snacker too! I don’t think I can live without them because I’m breastfeeding still and it makes me super hungry. But you’re right, at least we can eat healthier snacks. I had no choice but to do that recently too when my baby developed food allergies. He and I (since I’m still breastfeeding) had to go on a hypoallergenic diet. So hard!

Oh, watching pictures of those snacks probably wasn’t such a good idea for me as I’m on a pretty strict diet and I can’t acccess all its healthy versions <3 Thanks for suggestions, I will try to get some 🙂

Your healthy snacks look delicious! For us, mostly our healthy snacks are cereal, raisins, prunes and fruits. But we’ve tried malunngay noodles too.
