Messy Haul: Natural Bath and Skin Products

Natural Bath and Skin Products Haul

I haven’t posted a haul post in ages! Maybe because I was too busy? And lazy? (Konsensya: Hello, maybe you just weren’t buying anything post-worthy lately!)

That’s true. All of the reasons. Especially the third! Here’s the thing. I have accounts on many shopping websites and I have a lot of items stored in my cart (just in case) but I haven’t felt like shopping in months. There, I said it! I had a hard time accepting that since I’ve always loved shopping (with all my heart) but maybe I’m becoming lazy? I don’t bother checking out items within 48 hours. Heck, I don’t even impulse-buy anymore. Maybe I’ve become more conscious of my spending habits? Maybe it’s because I’m spending money on groceries instead?

Or maybe it’s because I’m *gasp* maturing?

Then again, there are things I just can’t help but buy, and these include natural bath and skin products. Yuri is prone to eczema while I have keratosis pilaris (I just usually say I have skin asthma even though it’s not the same thing), so I usually avoid supermarket brands that have strong ingredients. And I love discovering different local brands that offer organic and/or natural products.

So here’s my latest haul! I bought these from an eBay seller because she carries different local natural products.

Human Nature Kids' Shampoo, Milea Insect Repellent, Human Nature Clarifying Shampoo, Human Nature Sunflower Oil

Left to right: Human Nature Kids’ Natural Shampoo, Milea Insect Repellent, Human Nature Clarifying Shampoo, Human Nature Sunflower Oil

I bought a small-sized version of Yuri’s usual shampoo just as an afterthought because we still have a big bottle at home. I also tried this brand of insect repellent because I’m still on the lookout for the perfect insect repellent. We’ve tried several brands, and so far, my favourite is still GIGA. However, it’s so hard to find! They used to have a booth in SM Lanang Premier, but now, I need to look for it online (it’s still hard to find). This one works, too, but its scent is too strong for our taste.

Meanwhile, I swear by Human Nature’s Clarifying Shampoo. It’s the only shampoo that I feel truly cleans my scalp (I only shampoo twice a week so this is a must!). I feel squeaky clean after using it and I love the scent. Then I also included the famous Human Nature Sunflower Oil for my skin. I’m using it as an alternative to Bio Oil for my stretchmarks; I hope it works!

Ilog Maria Glycerine Soap, Papaya Soap, Daila Lactic Acid Soap

Top left to right: Ilog Maria Glycerine Soap, Papaya Soap, Daila Lactic Acid Soap

I usually just use Human Nature Kids’ Shampoo as Yuri’s soap since it doubles as a body wash, but this pure glycerine soap caught my eye. In total fairness to this soap, it removed all of Yuri’s rashes!!! I’m not a big fan of the scent (it’s unscented so it must be the natural scent of one of the ingredients) but it’s not offensive either. I now swear by this soap.

I read somewhere that lactic acid is good for people with skin conditions like my KP, so imagine my glee when I found this soap. It’s actually marketed as a feminine soap (you know), but soap is soap and I use it on my whole body. No, it didn’t remove my KP but my skin feels softer now and it doesn’t react badly to the soap, which is good. I’ll probably try another kind of soap, though. I’ll try goat’s milk soap next.

The papaya soap is a seller’s freebie. I gave it to my helper. 🙂

I love human nature products. We’re currently using the sun flower oil. Someone recommended that to me for mosquito bites.

I havent tried HHN baby products because I’m afraid it may caused skin reactions to my baby. We are using the J&J Baby wash in Blue Variant since day 1, 10 months na siya ngayon. Hmmm siguro kapag lumaki laki pa siya. But I love their Acne Cleansing wash and Body Wash.
