I apologise for not writing! Life has been soooo busy lately. I’ll assume you’re the tiniest bit interested in what’s going on in my life so I’ll let you know. Lol you have no choice. Anyway, let’s start with the not-so-good news…
Papa’s Hospitalisation
Papa got hospitalised again. He slipped and fell in the bathroom when he went in to pee dawn of Tuesday morning. We wanted to take him to the hospital right there and then but he insisted he was fine (save for the big-as-an-egg lump on his head) and doesn’t need to be checked. Because my dad has a looong history of being stubborn, we decided to wait.

We did things normally over the past weekend. The little boy even got a second haircut from Fun Cuts Just 4 Tots (same shirt and I didn’t even notice haha).
We figured since he’s going to undertake another round of dialysis in a day anyway, the doctor could maybe see if anything was wrong. He went on to have his dialysis without any problem.
But by Friday, he was asking to be taken to the doctor because he’s been having persistent headaches and was feeling dizzy all the time. My mum took him to the hospital for a checkup, but the doctor recommended him to undergo a CT scan because it is possible that he had a mild stroke (again) when he fell. So he had to be confined.
I won’t anymore go into details (since it’s been a pretty uneventful hospital stay, thank God), but he got discharged yesterday afternoon and the results show that he did have a mild stroke. Thank God he did not suffer any big repercussion aside from the constant dizziness. It’s almost like he didn’t have one, but we all need to be really careful next time.
Me, the Student Driver
Throwback to this post I wrote more than a month ago. One of the goals I wanted to accomplish before the year ends is to learn how to drive, so I enrolled myself in driving lessons (didn’t really trust myself with anyone short of a professional teacher – I’m afraid their patience would wear thin with me) in Good Sign driving school last month. I basically know how to drive now but I still need to practice more!
Jobs’ Life Lately

Apparently he took living abroad as a reason to grow his facial hair haha! I actually forgot what we were laughing about here but I liked the moment so I took a screenshot.
Job has been in Riyadh since June of this year and finally, finally he was able to get internet installed in his unit last month! Now we’re able to video call each night. Hallelujah thank you Lord. He’s doing really well there and has adjusted finely. He’s made a lot of friends (although his housemate got sent back to the Philippines because of bad behaviour. No love was lost between the two though because Job’s always been annoyed by him since Day 1 err, maybe 7.)
Meeting Baby Mia
One of my closest friends, JM, gave birth a couple of months ago, but since she and her husband are now based in their hometown, Kidapawan, we’ve never had the chance to meet the baby yet. Until last Saturday! They were in the city and there was no way we were not meeting the beautiful Baby Mia. (This baby is particularly special because she’s the first baby girl in our group!)
And meet Ingrid!
Here’s my new baby! Okay, she’s not a baby baby and she’s not actually new (because I bought her secondhand), but I’m loving her so much. Cheers to my first-gen Avanza!
She’s not very young (because she’s first-gen duh *cue Karen Smith from Mean Girls*) but she runs like a dream. I’m glad we didn’t have to deal with a shady seller either. In fact, he was very professional (works for the government actually), easy to talk to and always adjusted to our needs. He even invited us to his wedding next month haha. Thank you Lord for this sweet deal!
(I haven’t fully decided on the name “Ingrid” yet but for now, I think the name fits her. Yes I am corny.)
What’s your life like lately?

Congratulations on the car, you have achieved 2 things there – driving and car and it must feels great! Cheers and have fun driving (well not too much fun).
Hi Mommy Maan, i hope you’re Papa will be fine. As for driving, that is one of my goal last year to enroll into driving lesson unfortunately hindi natuloy pero I was able to drive our SUV dahil narin hindi makakadrive si hubby and send our kids to school. Pak! Natuto na lang ako ng bigla 🙂 (sorry haba ng chika) congrats to your new “baby” and stay safe. ♥
Woah that’s something! Ako nga it’s been a month since I learned but I’ve never ventured out on my own pa (even just inside the village).
Thank you! 🙂
I envy you because I don’t know how to drive. I don’t know why I’m so scared to try it or mas feel ko na passenger lang para hindi pagod. 🙂
Hope your Papa’s doing well! 🙂 Congrats to your new baby! Praying to get mine soon hopefully by next year!
Seems like you were able to accomplish a lot of things lately. I can imagine just how good that felt given the very limited time most of us have.
Congratulations on your new car and your journey to driving… it must’ve been such a wonderful experience. Ladies who knows how to drive are confident and powerful.. ive been driving since i was 13years old and it feels good to go places without asking for help of a driver or my dad or my husband.. much easier also esp if you have kids..
Wow 13! I’m excited to feel that independence too!
Thank God you’re dad’s okay na! My father had mild stroke, too, way back in 2009 I think. It’s one of the toughest year for our family kasi muntik na ma-operahan si Papa sa utak just to unclog yung bumarang dugo pero buti na lang nakuha sa gamot lang and natunaw yung dugo so he eventually got out of the hospital after recovery period. Ang parents talaga, matitigas ang ulo kapag usapang ospital eh. Hehe! Also, buti na lang at may internet na si hubby sa Riyadh! Wow, I can’t even imagine being in a long distance relationship but my husband’s quite considering it now that we’re expecting another bundle of joy to arrive by next year (that’s been how I’m doing lately, battling the first tri hormonal rage lol)! Haaay. Anyway, congrats sa new car! More more gala na because of it! Hindi naman siguro super traffic dyan sa Davao compared here sa Manila, am I right? So hindi nakakainis mag-drive there. Haha
Oo nga, in my father’s case naman, it’s already his second stroke and thank God talaga nothing major happened.
More gala talaga, and above it, I’m so excited to have a taste of independence! I’d love not having to rely on anyone to take me places. Wee! Medyo ma-traffic rin dito but nothing compared to Manila traffic for sure. Btw congrats on the new (human) baby!
Your life lately is full of blessings. I read in FB that your papa is discharged already, sorry about the accident. And congrraaats on the new baby! I’m happy about Job na OK na din internet. As per Dane, 1 year down, 1 year to go na mi. Life lately for me, full of deadlines! lol!
It’s a good thing that your father is ok na. You been through a lot lately huh. I wanna study driving too but couldn’t find time. Planning to take one summer next year to make sure there’s someone who will look after my little one.
I hope your dad is okay, it’s really difficult to kulit our parents for a check up sometimes. Overall andaming nangyari sa iyo and I want to give you a pat in the back for the car and learning how to drive! Yay you!
Waaah! I want to enroll in a driving school too. My husband doesn’t want to teach me, because mag aaway lang kami! HAHAHA! Congrats on Ingrid, too!
And why are Dads so stubborn about hospital check-ups?! My dad needs an executive check-up but always has an excuse not to go! Hay!
I learned to drive late too and until now, x years after “learning” how to drive, I still struggle with parking! Lol! Good luck!
Learning to drive ia on my plan.. but not this coz wheels not yet available hahahah.. hope that your paps will be ok now..
You are not corny. I find you sweet. When my friend and I planned to have a car three years ago, I told her I will nickname mine Ernest. Ernest because he will come from our humble earnings. Too cheesy or corny. I do not know. But my money that time wasnt enough to buy a new one thus I relayed my name plan to my friend. She borrowed the idea and named her car Ernest. Nway, now that i got a car for myself, I totally forgot giving him a name, not until I read this. I also enrolled in a driving school but Im not satisfied with their service. The 3hr classroom discussion on travel rules etc isnt even set. I still do not have my non pro license thus I cannot go out of the subdivision too.
I hope your dad will be extra careful next time. Haha, same with my mom, super tigas ulo.
Glad your dad is okay now. And wow, congrats on your new baby- Ingrid. 🙂
Congrats on your new baby! It’s good that you got a good deal. And funny how you got invited pa to the wedding of the one who sold it. 🙂
Congrats on Ingrid! 🙂
I’ve lived in Oman a few years as a child and as a young adult. The middle east is nice naman, although KSA is stricter. But there are lots of Pinoys and so much activities. And perhaps ypu guys can come visit him with a visit visa when he’s already settled in. 🙂
Good to know that you’re dad is okay now. Congrats on the new car and learning to drive! I had driving lessons eons ago but never got around to getting license. I hate driving! haha!
I hope your dad is fine now. I also like to get Avanza, kaso di pa ko nakakaipon pangbili 🙂
Congratulations on your new car! And for learning how to drive! 🙂 It’s my one fear that I need to overcome, I think. I just can’t see myself braving the Manila traffic and drivers haha. Also, hoping your Dad is feeling a whole lot better now 🙂
Buti ka pa nakakapag drive na. Nasa pangarap ko yan eh. Kelangan ko na matuto.
Congratulations on your new baby! She looks good. And with your Pop’s hospitalization, I feel you. Our parents, the more they get older, the more their stubbornness show. I hope, he feels better now.
With my life lately? Also messy but that’s life is, that’s its beauty. I just learned how to get along. Hehe
I’m glad that your Dad is okay now. Congrats on your new car. Ingat po sa pag drive.
Enrolling in a driving school was a good decision. I also took driving lessons via A1 Driving school, although my dad took my car away after I’ve been driving for a month, haha. When he finally gave me another, it’s been years and I’ve developed some sort of fear on the road. But I hope to drive again. That’s a goal in 2017.
Congratulations on the car! And one on my bucket list too is learn how to drive kahit wala pa kong pambili g karu!
When it comes to driving more than learning the ropes it’s practice talaga so you can get used to actually being on the road.
Congratulations on your new baby! 😉 I have yet to learn how to drive also. hehehe
Your baby looks so adorable! Congratulations! Good luck and ingat sa pagda-drive kasama ang mga kids! 🙂
Hello Ingrid! Our Innova was also bought second hand but he’s been with us for 5 years already. Good Luck to driving.
Great round-up up and I salute you for enrolling into a driving school. Learning how to drive is in my todo list this year and though I’ve started already, I am still half-hearted in pursuing it.
