I have a funny story.
Yesterday, I took a leave from work because my 2-month old laptop suddenly stopped working. It was working so well and then it suddenly won’t turn on. Either I have abused my battery (possible) or it was attacked by a virus (also possible). It’s a good thing it’s still covered by warranty, both service and parts, so there wasn’t any problem money-wise.
Anyway, my mother and Yuri went with me yesterday because we also needed to drop by HLURB. They texted us saying that our certificates were already. We also decided to run some errands and buy food because it was my dad’s birthday, too.
So we were off to my sister’s school first to pay her tuition fee. We were already on the highway when I realized I wasn’t wearing shoes.
I’m not even kidding! I was wearing my bedroom slippers instead – and nobody noticed! I even managed to change my clothes twice and change Yuri’s shoes twice yet I completely forgot to wear my own shoes. Since it was already too late to go back to the house, I had no choice but to wear my house slippers to my sister’s school and to HLURB. School was fine since I didn’t have to present myself to people, but I had no choice in HLURB. The other lady in the office, who I assume is also a real estate broker, kept looking at my feet haha.
And did I mention my slippers were really, um, slippery? I had to take special care to not slip on the floor!
It was a good thing HLURB was located where else but near Uyanguren, Davao City’s Chinatown. We decided to enter a newly built “mall,” DCLA (the new one), to look for shoes. I simply refuse to go to the Asus Service Centre and to SM wearing slippers hahaha.
Well, I guess good things come out of bad things as I was able to spot this pair of really pretty but really cute shoes:
Can you believe they just cost P220? I would have bought more of the pairs had they have other colours available!
Not only that, Yuri (a budding shoe-holic I reckon) also spotted a pair of sandals that he liked. When I looked at it, I fell in love right away because I’ve always wanted to buy him leather strappy sandals (Salt Waters are just too expensive for me!) but find them impractical.
We’re not fooling anyone; these are not leather. But they really look good in person especially when worn (because you can’t see the rubber soles anymore). They’re also really soft on the feet!
Can you believe the pair just costs P200?
I paid P420 for two pairs of footwear!
When I was younger, I would always go to Chinatown, but now, I very seldom find myself in it. Now, because of these awesome footwear finds, I vowed to go back before Christmas!
