Lifestyle Messy Haul Shopping

What I Bought From the S&R Members’ Treat 2017

I finished work early today so I was able to fit in some S&R shopping before it was time to fetch Yuri from school. We were planning to go tomorrow pa but then I remembered Yuri has an appointment with our dentist tomorrow, so we tried to pass by S&R to see whether the queue outside the entrance was manageable…

Lo and behold there was no queue! I was expecting the same queue I experienced during last year’s Members’ Treat so I was pleasantly surprised. Then again we were there early afternoon on the third day of the sale (Friday) so either the shoppers were already done shopping or haven’t arrived yet. There were no long queues inside the warehouse either!

Unlike last year, I wasn’t able to take photos of the goods on sale this year because I was in a hurry as I needed to be back at Yuri’s school by 3:30 pm. Also, unlike last year when I was with friends, this time my parents tagged along and I gladly accepted the company for the #seniorcitizen benefits lol.

I was able to read comments of some people saying that the sale this year is not as extensive as the past years’. I actually do not mind at all because I’m coming into the store with no specific thing I need to buy naman. I’m not there to hoard or panic-buy either. My mindset is that I’ll just buy whatever practical find catches my eye. And speaking of things that catch my eye, here are the stuff I bought!

Giant bag of chocolates – P500

Beside a bag of KitKats for reference

E.Wedel chocolates, Buy 1 Take 1 for P99 (This is originally 6 pieces; Yuri already ate the other one) I forgot I went back and added 3 more pairs of milk chocolate. The milk chocolate variant tastes better than the caramel white choc one, in my opinion.

Green tea KitKat – P149

A smaller bag of MARS chocolates – P349

Tin of candy for size reference

A bag of Nestle chocolates – P599

Tin of candy for size reference

Cubi Wafers – Buy 1 Take 1 for around P149

Mini Bears cookies – Buy 1 Take 1 for around P109

Sugar-free Cavendish & Harvey candy – Buy 2 Take 1 for around P238 (These are the candies Papa always eats)

Cavendish & Harvey mint drops – Buy 2 Take 1 at P178

Quorn Meatless Mince – P129.95

Hungarian sausage – P419/kilo. This one is P318.44, went back and added another pack for P322.63

Celestial Cool Brew Tea – Buy 1 Take 1 for P149

Juicy juice – Buy 1 Take 1 for P199

Beside the quite big box of tea for size reference

Cakes – Buy 1 Take 1 for P329 (sorry, a “mouse” was munching on the other side of the double choco-chip cake before I had the chance to take a photo…)

Febreze Allergen Reducer – P119

Even if there are items I miss being on sale (for example, where was the Dial body wash for kids???), it was a pleasant experience because there were no queues (at least in S&R Davao) and even if I had no senior citizen in tow, I would still have finished early and fetched Yuri on time…

…except I wasn’t able to fetch Yuri on time because we were greeted by this weather.

Cars were stuck in traffic everywhere because some of the streets were flooded.

I arrived 45 minutes after Yuri’s dismissal! Bad mama! It was a good thing that his other classmates were still in school, waiting for their sundo, so Yuri was not alone, but I feel for those kids, too. I hope they were fetched immediately after we left!

Sorry, Yuri, at least you have snacks?

PS: Be careful with the bags of chocolates on sale. The ones we picked up, the giant Mars one and the Kitkat, will be expiring before November. We just bought it because we’re scheduled to use them way before the expiration date. So yun lang, just check the expiry dates!

Wow that’s a ton of chocolates! Yan ang mahirap kapag sale, madalas yung malapit na maexpire yung mga binebenta. Ako pa naman, I seldom check their expiry dates and I love SALE sa grocery. Hakot to the max lols.

My goodness, that flood! I’m in MM, but I’ve honestly never been out to see a flooded street. I must be indoors quite a lot. Glad you were able to fetch your child safely. Slowly but surely. I like shopping in S&R and getting a really big tub of ice cream and cake and a big pail of laundry powder. 🙂

Wah ang sarap ng chocolates 🙂 I have always wanted na mamili sa S&R kaso walang malapit sa amin. As in ang layo nya. Checking the expiration dare talaga is crucial kasi minsan kaya sine-sale because malapit na magexpire.

I wasn’t able to check the S&R Member’s treat but my friend went there. Unfortunately, yung mga pinabili namin wala na daw stock, yung hindi sale ang nabili niya sa akin. I think second day of Sale pa siya nagpunta, ganun kabilis naubos.

I never had the chance to go to their members’ treat because lines are horrible! Also, my husband is not a fan of waiting in line so no. Haha. But I know their deals are good especially if panregalo sa Pasko.

No long lines here in Davao! Last year the queue was long but the cashiers were fast.

I agree always check the expiration date of promo items especially for chocolates. I like that bear cookies you’ve got, I haven’t tried them but they look yum! How was it?

I do that, too, pero somehow, it was acceptable since we’re gonna use them up way before the expiration date anyway! According to my boy, they taste good – he just prefers the honey flavor. 😀

I would have picked the same items if I had been at the recent S&R Member’s treat and indulge!

Every time we go to S&R, I always buy those Cubi wafers. I actually bought pairs of it during their promo but haven’t bought other checkout other items in promo because we are on a hurry when we shop. I just noticed that you bought lotsof sweets 🙂
