How was your Christmas?
I have come into terms with the fact that I won’t be able to blog properly until everything goes back to normal (hopefully during the first week of January!), but I found just enough time to squeeze in an update post. Here are the highlights of our Christmas, 2015!
Christmas Eve started with me meeting my SAHM (Stay At Home Mum) Team PH friends — in other words, my work friends. We met for lunch where we, ten tenen tenen, exchanged gifts! We had lunch at Cafe Teresita near GMA Shrine Hills, which is owned by the owner of Jive Highland Resort. Why we ate there? It’s a long story! I’ll tell you about it in a post especially devoted to the one about our trip to Buda. Abangan!
I got this oh-so-wonderful gift from Julie, our colleague from La Carlota, Negros Occidental:
A beginner’s calligraphy set + a couple of brush pens!
Wow I haven’t blogged in, like, forever!
Believe me when I say I haven’t had a single minute of “freedom” last week although it was certainly a blast! Even poor Yuri felt the exhaustion of the week as he slept until 9:30 this morning. And I had to wake him up because I was running out of laptop juice and my charger was left downstairs!
Here is how last week went:
Practice for our village carolling. We (village officers, youth officers + anyone who wants to join) always sing carols here in our neighbourhood to raise money for our annual Christmas party. We always look forward to joining because it’s so much fun! It’s even more fun this year because the youth officers this year are very kalog and the energy levels are sky-high.
Some of the officers (little boy excluded) #teamRED
First day of carolling! I prepared and arranged the songs to be sung. Then Yuri and I rushed to a nearby department store to buy some gifts. We got home just in time to eat dinner and get ready to sing some Christmas songs and bring some Christmas cheer (chos).
So I’m giving up on dieting this month.
Even though money is kinda tight (I forgot to include my World Vision kids’ noche buena in my budget plan! Sorry guys that I sent it literally at the last minute!), thank God there is no shortage of food around here. Thank you Lord for the generous givers around us and for the occasional extra money to enjoy food!
So even though I won’t be losing weight anytime this year (and may even gain s’more kilos – – even my puns are food – related gah), I’m just thankful the there’s always food on the table despite the sky-high medical expenses haha.
Wondering what to wear to that company Christmas party?
Or a family reunion?

If you want to save yourself the dilemma and stress of thinking about what to wear for that awaited event, then worry no more! This DRESS is available for us women out there! I am absolutely one of those girls who want to look chic and fabulous but still feel comfortable and stress-free.
This dress is definitely perfect with its dainty black floral print and the sleeved top which is very appropriate for that casual brunch youÕre attending too. I personally love the fabric itÕs made of. ItÕs in satin which is very smooth and airy. ItÕs also soft and has a silky finish. It is great to pair with a nice pair of strappy heels or a beautiful pair of wedges. A lovely purse could also spice this dress up and then matched with sweet dainty accessories and the ensemble would be really look very put together. It can be worn casually or formally, depending on how you style it as its Green in color. ItÕs available in the sizes S M L XL.
The price should also be as smooth as its silky soft finish, which it is! It is currently priced at PHP908 (87% Off) which originally was PHP6918. Save as much as PHP6010! This is definitely a great price for such a beautiful dress!

For the first time since I gave birth in 2012 and started working from home full-time, I’m finally having a taste of the lovely thing called “Christmas Bonus” again.
I don’t really need to include this picture… Wala lang!
Which only means one thing. Time to start Christmas shopping!
Busy, busy, busy!
(Then again, I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t busy. I’m sure you can relate!)
Right now, after a full week of work, I’m squeezing in some real estate duties (I’m a licensed broker *hint hint*), blogging duties (obviously), and a bit of mothering. I’m sure that last bit made me look like the worst mum in the world. Truth is I’m relishing Yuri’s newfound independence. He’s still clingy — a lot clingier than other kids his age, seemingly — but most of the time, he does fine on his own.
One of my frustrations as a mum, though, is the lack of time (and budget) to look for stuff that will keep him entertained other than the tablet. When I was still freelancing, I had all the time in the world to shop for supplies, but now that I have a full-time job to attend to, time is a luxury I sometimes can’t afford.
So when I heard about BuriBox from Janice’s blog, I couldn’t be more excited. What put a damper on my spirits, though, is learning that they didn’t deliver outside Metro Manila. But that was before. Last month, Janice offered a promo wherein you can receive a BuriBox and just pay for the shipping fee. Of course I grabbed the opportunity!
We received the October BuriBox and here’s what’s inside:
Have you visited a Christmas Bazaar lately? I have (and have written about it in a previous post) and bought several things in spite of my vow to not buy anything before December.
In fairness, it was almost December last Saturday so I decided to forgive myself. I just set a meagre budget (and went just the littlest bit overboard) and off I went.
I went there with my work gals, Jona and Macy.
Grabbed this one from Jona because my groupfie game needs work (I already look haggard here because this was taken after bargain hunting)
Sarah was supposed to be going with us but she had a headache and had to stay home #buntisproblems. Originally, we wanted to visit the bazaar to buy sweaters and stuff for our Christmas getaway. We also wanted to buy matte lippies. Well, we went home with neither. There were gorgeous sweaters there but their price tags weren’t “bazaar prices.” And then there were no matte lippies at all.
I went home with these instead:
Within budget! Haha
